Artist: Jennifer Steinkamp
Artist Jennifer Steinkamp used SyFlex for a series of videos she then projected
in her art installation called "Formation". The work was exhibited this year
in the Denver Art Museum and in Lehmann Maupin, NYC.
Jennifer Steinkamp is an installation artist who works with video and new media
in order to explore ideas about architectural space, motion, and perception.
She gave us a few words about her work with SyFlex:
Syflex: Why cloth simulation?
Jennifer: I used the simulation to create falling cloth. I wanted to create a virtual material falling down an invisible surface.
Syflex: Why did you choose to work with SyFlex?
Jennifer: A friend showed me SyFlex. I tried it and decided this was great for my needs.
Syflex: This was the first time you have used SyFlex, right? How was the learning curve?
Jennifer: Yes the learning curve was very straight forward, the documentation was great.
Syflex: What did you like about SyFlex?
Jennifer: It changed my life. Just kidding. I do find it magical.
