Syflex releases Sylfid-f1, a piano-like virtual instrument, where the motion of the strings is computed in real-time using the Syflex simulation engine.



August 15, 2009  --  Syflex in "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince"
MPC required extensive cloth simulation in the latest Harry Potter movie, especially in the action packed Quidditch match.

October 13, 2008  --  Syflex 3.9 released
Syflex 3.9 for Maya 2009 has been released today. With multi-threading, the new version is faster than ever. For instance on a quad core Syflex 3.9 is up to 3.7 times faster than the previous versions making it 15 times faster than any other solution on the market.



August 25, 2008  --  Syflex in "Star Wars: The Clone Wars"

Lucasfilm in Singapore chose Syflex for the cloth simulation.



July 21, 2008  --  Syflex in "Meet Dave"
CIS Hollywood used Syflex for the cloth simulation in "Meet Dave".



July 26, 2008  --  Syflex in "Journey to the Center of the Earth"
Meteor Studios relied on Syflex for most of their shots, such as the skin of the T-Rex and character clothes.



July 26, 2008  --  Syflex dressed Chimps in "Space Chimps"
Vanguard Animation used Syflex to dress the chimps in this space adventure.



July 26, 2008  --  Syflex in "Dark Knight"
Double Negative used Syflex to help animating the batcape.
Paul Franklin, visual effects supervisor at Double Negative, said in an interview for VFXWorld: "the demands of IMAX meant our cloth simulation needed to be much more detailed."



June 30, 2008  --  Syflex in "Kung Fu Panda"
According to Manninen's interview in the June 08 edition of CGW: "We created a process using Syflex that allows the animators to run cloth sims while they’re animating. Because this is kung fu, we really needed to help the simulation look cool; we wanted to create a flowing look with the simulated clothing."



June 5, 2008  --  Syflex in "Dragon Hunters"
To animate the characters, Mac Guff used traditional key-frame animation, combined with a great variety of simulations and dynamics.

May 12, 2008  --  Syflex in "Horton Hears a Who"
Bluesky Studios needed an out of the box cloth simulator that would give them the flexibility to do different types of cloth materials with a fairly quick turn around.

MPC uses Syflex for the nets and harnesses on the mammoths.



February 25, 2008  --  Syflex in "The Spiderwick Chronicles."
Tippet uses Syflex to animate clothes and invisibility shields on the goblins.



January 8, 2008  --  Syflex in "I Am Legend."
Sony Picture Imageworks used Syflex in "I Am Legend."



January 5, 2008  --  Syflex in "The Golden Compass".
Cinesite and Framestore CFC used Syflex in the making of "The Golden Compass", for clothes, sails and ropes. CGW has more in its December 2007 issue.



November 22, 2007  --  "Syflex in "Fred Claus"."
MPC populated the North Pole with hundreds of elves. Clothing animation was simulated in Syflex.



November 16, 2007  --  Syflex in "Bee Movie"
CGW has an in-depth article about Dreamworks' "Bee movie". For cloth, character effects artists used Syflex to handle costumes for the humans and the bees.



November 12, 2007  --  "Syflex in Lissi und der wilde Kaiser."
An Austrian empress, as well as other characters, chose to wear Syflex clothes in the latest German CG animated movie from Michael Herbig.



October 31, 2007  --  "Syflex in Elizabeth: The Golden Age"
CG artist Claire Pegorier from MPC used Syflex to animate sails and ropes: “Our CG galleons had up to a dozen sails, with these huge pennants and flags on top of the masts, and as many as 5,000 ropes! So, a realistic simulation was of paramount importance."



July 25, 2007  --  "Syflex in the U.K."
Syflex is used by many companies in the UK.
Recently, three companies in London: Double Negative, Framestore CFC and the Moving Picture Company used Syflex in the lastest Harry Potter movie.



June 21, 2007  --  "Silver Surfer"
Hydraulx used Syflex in "Fantastic Four 2: Rise of the Silver Surfer".




June 11, 2007  --  "Spider-Man 3"
Sony Pictures Imageworks used Syflex in 80 shots for Spider-Man 3 for digital doubles, masks and flags.

The new "Maya Techniques | Hyper-Realistic Creature Anatomy Part II" DVD from Autodesk is out. Lead Animation Technical Director at Weta Digital, Rudy Grossman, is one of the authors. Rudy is demonstrating in the DVD the use of SyFlex for skin & flesh simulation.
